There are always a certain amount of fat cells left in any area and these cells will always expand more should you continue with your bad eating habits. I think we should just look at the likes of Liz Taylor to see that the weight loss is not permanant.

The only way to reduce your weight is to embark on lifestyle changes. Being careful about what you eat and having a regular exercise routine is the only way to lose weight and keep it off.

Apart from that, I think the feeling of well being that is created from exercise and living a healthy life is something that cannot be found on the end of a surgeons knife.

Found some nice recipes today to help with my Burn the Fat Feed the Muscle Program. I think it has something to do with the horrible british weather, it makes you crave stodgy food and want to stay in bed in the morning instead of getting up earlier to exercise.

I promised myself I would read the Burn the Fat Feed the Muscle Book again to get back on track as I know it works.

While our parents grew up with the idea that it was best to eat only three meals a day, scientists now tell us that we need to eat more often than that if we want to lose weight. We are so eager to lose weight that we swallow the promises of every diet guru on the planet and eagerly plunk down our hard earned cash, praying that this time it will work.

Low-Fat/High-Carb Dieting - virtually all the diets promise that they are how to lose weight fast diets are supposed to work. Interval training is a fun and excellent way to burn fats and lose weight fast while building endurance at the same time. We know all these things yet we still don't practice them often enough.

Now you can use the power of hypnosis to not only break negative habits like overeating food like sweets, and chocolate but also to lose weight. But what if your problems aren't related to overeating chocolates and biscuits, what if you don't eat those things and still don't lose weight. I think that is your body saying that you have overdone the yo yo dieting over the years and your metabolism needs boosting.

The only way to do that is to eat several small meals a day and exercise, thus stoking the metabolic fires. This is basically what the Burn the Fat Feed the Muscle system is all about but with a lot of tips and tricks to help you on your way.

Some people may also argue that the points' system approach to weight control is a short term method and just one of many weight-loss options, this has worked for a lot of people, but I tried it and couldn't stick to it. I guess it just depends on your personallity typ too, what works for one person doesn't necarsarily work for everyone. We are struggling as a sociey with weight loss because people are attempting to combat it with short term solutions and it is not a short term problem.

The difference between those people who lose weight and those who don't is simply how many excuses they make. And we're all good at making excuses, me especially.

The fact is to lose weight permanently you need to make permanent changes to your lifestyle. Most weight loss experts agree that the key to long-term weight management evolves from permanent lifestyle changes. The key to permanent weight loss is speeding up your body’s metabolism so that it burns through the food you consume more rapidly.

Struggling in the New Year

Weight Loss

Well my weight loss efforts have been on hold for a few days due to a heavy cold, just couldn't get the energy to drag myself upstairs to the gym. Did manage to do a bit of research though on some weight loss diets etc.

The weight loss protein debate centers around the effectiveness of casein and whey protein as weight loss supplements. Some weight loss companies have used "The Mediterranean diet" as a name for a diet consisting mainly of food that are eaten by the population of the Mediterranean countries. There are thousands of diet books and diet gurus offering a myriad of ideas for quick weight loss.

It Is Time You Understood the Real Weight Loss Facts If you want to lose weight and keep it off you must do two things—exercise regularly and eat a diet that limits saturated fats, preservatives, sugars, and sodium. Myth #1- You shouldn't start weight training until you've lost most of the weight you want to lose because it will slow down your fat loss, or trap your fat in the muscle. FACT - Weight training is VITAL to a weight loss program as it turns up the metabolism that burns calories -and tones your muscles.

Restrictive Procedures: Restrictive weight loss surgery works by altering the size of the stomach, to reduce the amount of food that can be consumed at one time.

* Laparoscopic Adjustable Gastric Banding: This restrictive weight loss surgery, also called stomach banding, utilizes a band to divide the stomach into two portions. * Vertical Banded Gastroplasty: This is restrictive weight loss surgery in which the upper stomach near the esophagus is stapled vertically for about 2-1/2 inches to create a smaller stomach pouch. If you’ve opted for weight loss surgery, the cost of such a procedure can be quite daunting.

Relacore is touted as one of the most effective preparations for rapid weight loss that claim to reduce cortisol. The various rapid weight loss preparations on the market each claim to speed your weight loss using specific methods.

Bodybuilders have successfully overcome one of the toughest obstacles to healthy weight loss. Keep in mind, however, that bodybuilders also practice the diet basics of healthy weight loss.

If you're goal is fat loss, remember to incorporate weight training into your exercise regime along with cardio and intelligent dieting. Once you have achieved victory and attained your weight loss goal, consider the lifestyle changes that you will need to make to maintain your goal weight.

A YaHoo search of the term "Easy Weight Loss" yielded about 10,600,000 hits. Finally, running a Google search for "I want to lose weight but I don't want to exercise because I don't have the time, money or will power" will bring up about 633,000 sites. Too much conflicting information out there, there comes a time when common sense has to prevail.

Total calorie intake 1500 per day, Total calorie expenditure 2200 per day, result = weight loss. We all know that to acheive weight loss we have to reduce our calorie intake, and exercise. We can make our calories count for more though, ie instead of having that peice of left over Christmas cake, 400 cals, you could have some fresh fruit and save the extra 300 or so calories for later.

New Year Weight Loss

Many people begin a fitness program to lose weight.

But the truth is that it is not easy for women over 40 to lose weight within a short period of time. Drinking tea also burns more calories than just taking caffeine in pill form, as your body has to cool down the hot drink once it is inside you, and that takes energy. Strangely enough, tea is also thought to affect the colour of your hair if you drink it in sufficient quantities.

If you are more than 10lbs over weight then it is the right time to take steps to remove the extra weight and get back into shape. Exercise alone Is Not sufficient to lose weight Even if you take the time and motivate yourself to increase your exercise, you must consider cleaning up your diet for the determining factor that makes up 80% of your weight loss.

Bouncing my weight off

Just found a good way to add some exercise that only takes a few minutes a day and gets some great results. I will resist all the
temptations, ie mince pies, chocolates, Baileys
etc. I have promised myself just 1 treat per day
and that's it. I have also decided I will not do
my usual thing of not exercising over Christmas.
I am determined to get in a few good walks
whatever the weather.

Fortunately for me I do have a very good
incentive, just booked a holiday in February to
Barbados. So if baring all that wobbly dimpled
flesh on the beaches in St James Bay, near to
all those celebrity stocked hotels, isn't enough
of an incentive to cut back on the food and do
more exercise then I don't know what is.

I have also resolved to read through my Burn the
Fat Feed the Muscle book again. I read somewhere
that you only take retain a very small
percentage of information on first reading. I
remember how fired up I was to get going on the
program and put it into action when I first read
it, I think I need that little boost again with
the Christmas temptations around the corner.
I have found that all the weight loss techniques
in the book have re-programmed me to some
extent, like drinking lots of water etc.
To find out more about the Burn the Fat Feed the
Muscle program go here.

10 Tips for Losing 7lbs

1.Cut out the carbs at night, you very likely won't be burning them off unless you take a trip to the gym after dinner. Makes sure you have some carbs at lunch.

2. Give up the alcohol. After a drink or two your will power is weakened and that chocolate doesn't seem like a bad idea. Not to mention all the extra calories in the alcohol. It's tough I know but unless you do you won't be getting into that sexy number that you bought to wear for the night out.

3. Try and keep on the move, even if you are sitting at a desk a lot of the day, stand up and walk over to the water cooler more frequently, or just walk around the office on a regular basis. You can also do some buttock flexing exercises whilst sitting down.

4. Cut down on fat. Be sparing with the olive oil it has as many calories as butter (even though its better for you). Try using an oil spray instead.

5. Take a trip to bed early. If you succumb to snacking in front of the television every evening then buy yourself a good book and go to bed.

6. Hide the cookies......even better don't purchase them in the first place. If they are on view you will possibly not be able to resist. Be careful with the nuts and dried fruit too as these calories can mount up.

7. A quick 1 day detox, boil up some vegetables in a light stock, simmer for at least an hour. Strain of the liquid and drink throughout the day. You can also consume the cooked vegetables when hungry, this is a good detox.

8. 7 day detox, this really has a beneficial effect on your ability to drop some pounds, just sip lemon water first thing in the morning then fruit and vegetables (salads) throughout the day for the first2 days. After that you can introduce beans and lentils and grilled fish, try and eliminate the dairy and you should see a big difference. Not only will you shed some pounds but your skin will be looking much healthier and you will feel a lot fitter.

9. NO Butts! Exercise, its a must to help move the excess. If you don't like the gym then just walk round the neighbourhood, if you dislike the neighbourhood then walk up and down your stairs several times, if you don't have stairs then try and invest in a piece of home gym equipment. You can uncover bargains on EBay, in particular if you look for misspelled words.

10. Stand up tall and Suck it in! Good posture goes a long way to giving the illusion of having lost weight, stand up straight with your shoulders back and your chin parallel with the floor. Push your hips forward and bottom under, this holds the tummy in.
For more info on weight loss go here

Power of Positive Thinking By Tom Venuto

==============================================
BURN THE FAT
Fat Burning Tips Newsletter
Brought to you by www.BurntheFat.com

Fat Burning Tips Live Weekly e-zine
November 8th, 2006

--------------------------------------------------
Metaphysics & Brain science merge and prove that
positive thinking and goal setting literally
create your body and your entire life experience
---------------------------------------------------

Last week on a special edition of CNN's Larry King Live,
Mr. King interviewed a panel of "mind experts" about how the
thoughts you think literally turn into the events you
experience, the material things you possess... AND even
the health of your body.

For years, "positive thinking" and goal-setting were
often criticized as "pollyanna" and "the law of attraction"
was relegated into the category of "new age" fluff

On last week's show, panel experts Bob Proctor, John Assaraf
and others who were featured in the movie 'The Secret' explained
that recent breakthroughs in neuroscience along with understanding
mental laws, reveal why goal setting, the "law of attraction" and
"positive thinking" all work, regardless of whether you look
at them from a metaphysical or a scientific perspective.

Scientists have even identified specific parts of the brain,
such as the reticular activating system (RAS), which works
with the visual parts of our brain to call our conscious
attention to things that are important to reaching our goals and
to filter out those things that are unimportant.

The RAS is activated by "programming" goals into our sub-conscious
minds. Our sub concscious mind is the "power center" and THIS is
the mechanism that explains why goal setting and positive thinking
are now being accepted as scientific methods for change.

We are discovering that our brain is cybernetic in nature, which
means that it is literally like a computer, waiting for a program
to be installed.

Here's the kicker - the subconcsious is completely neutral and
impartial - it will carry out any instructions you give it.

Unfortunately, many of us are still running negative programs we picked up
from others as children when our non-conscious minds were totally
open and impressionable, or which we developed over the years as
a result of repetition of our own negative thinking.

As it turns out, our own thoughts, repeated daily, are one of the
primary ways that our "mental computer" is programmed on a sub-conscious
level, which is the level of beliefs, habits and automatic behavior.

To change your results, you must overwrite old negative programming
and install positive new programming into your subconscious.

This can be achived through such techniques as written goal setting,
positive self-talk (affirmations), and mental imagery (visualization).

In the 1970's, the Soviets and East Germans were the first to formally
use structured mental rehearsal, and at that time, they dominated in several
olympic sports. This was reported in great detail in Charles Garfield's

landmark book, "Peak Performance." Today, virtually all elite athletes use

visualization extensively, as we now know that the brain cannot differentiate

between real practice and practice that is vividly imagined.

If you are getting more of the same negative results in your life - such as
the same health problems, or the same body fat continues to return even
after you lose it, then you have probably been un-consciously running old
negative programs and re-inforcing them with negative thought patterns.

You can begin the positive mental reprogramming process by writing down
your goals, changing your internal dialogue and taking a few minutes
to relax, quiet your mind and perform a session of visualization or
mental rehearsal every day (seeing yourself in your "mind's eye" not
as you currently are, but as you ideally would like to be).

These methods, repeated often enough, will begin to program the non-
conscious portion of the mind, which is the same part of the mind that
controls your heart beat, digestion and new cell production, all on
"automatic pilot."

In the last decade, neuroscientists discovered that you have the capacity to
create an almost infinite number of new neural connections in your brain
when you run new thought patterns.

The Old neural pathways are like grooves in a record, and if you are
struggling with your health related behaviors or behaviors in any other
area of your life, you have been playing the "old records" over and over again.

If you were to carve a new groove into that record, it would never play the
same way again. the old pattern would weaken and the new one would take over.
Brand new, positive thoughts, feelings and images begin to create new
neural patterns.

Psychologists estimate that it takes 21 to 30 days to establish a new
pattern in your brain. During this time, the focus on sticking with
your practice and repeating your new thought patterns is critical.

Is this easy? For most people, no it's not. In fact, controlling your
thinking and keeping it constructive may be one of the most difficult
challenges you have ever faced. Fortunately, writing goals and reading
affirmations can help get you started.

You can take some of the pressure off yourself by simply accepting that negative
thoughts and self criticisms will pop up from time to time. Just observe
them, without mulling over them or adding to them, and change the polarity
of the thought by quickly repeating one of your positive affirmations or
by changing your mental pictures.

So is there something to this whole "positive thinking" thing?

The philosophers and theologians have been saying yes for the entire span
of recorded history: "As you think, so shall you be." Variations on this
proverb can be found in every spiritual and philosophical tradition.

But... if you are the left-brained, "prove-it-to-me" type, you dont
have to go on faith anymore. Scientists are beginning to prove more
and more convincingly that thoughts are powerful things. Even Larry
King seemed impressed with what his panel of "mind mentors" had to say.
In fact, I just found out that larry will be airing part two of this
"Power of positive thinking" show next week on CNN.

So how soon are you going to begin your mental training right alongside your
physical training? When are you going to learn how to harness this power
locked up inside your mind?

Guess what? You're already using this force every day because you cannot
turn it off. Whatever you are thinking and picturing in your mind repeatedly
on a daily basis is already on it's way to you, so it's simply a matter
of HOW you are using it, not IF you are using it.

What do you say to yourself every day? Do you say, "I am becoming leaner,
healthier and more muscular every day?"... or do you say "I am a fat person -
Ive tried everything, nothing ever works?"

The fact is - you can think yourself thin and healthy or you can think
yourself obese and ill. Maybe not in the literal sense...but most certainly
as the critical part in the chain of causation...

You see, there's a lot of talk these days in the personal improvement world
about law of attraction, manifesting, intention, visualization, affirmations and

of course, positive thinking

Without understanding that there is an orderly, scientific basis underneath
all of these things, many people will simply remain skeptics, while on the opposite
extreme, others may get the idea that you can sit around meditating and
visualizing, then expect a mystical "law of attraction" to kick in and then
"poof!" a great body materializes out of thin air... along with the perfect
relationship, a nice bank account and fantastic career success.

What really happens is "Positive thinking" and related methods quite literally
re-program your brain, which in turn creates new behaviors that move you
physically toward whatever you have been thinking about and focusing on.

So success is achieved through positive thinking + positive doing....
attraction + action. There are two sides to the coin. Without paying
attention to both, you may continue to struggle... often against nothing
but yourself.

If you want to transform your body or any other aspect of your life, then
you have to change on the inside (the mind) first and then everything else
will follow.

Train hard and expect success,

Tom Venuto, NSCA-CPT, CSCS
Author, Burn The Fat, Feed The Muscle
www.BurntheFat.com

PS This process of *scientific* goal setting and mental reconditioning
through emotionally charged mental imagery (visualization) and internal mental
dialogue (affirmations) is the very first thing I have always taught my clients
and the first thing I wrote about in my book, Burn The Fat, Feed The Muscle
You can learn all of these techniques in detail in chapter 1. I decided
I needed to make some drastic changes if I was to improve
my chances of losing the weight that had been
creeping on for the last few years.

I decided to do some research into what would help
me to get my metabolism fired up in order to give
me a fighting chance in my weight loss quest. Here’s what I
found that works:

* Muscle helps to keep your metabolism up. You don’t need
to become a body builder but light weights with plenty of
repetitions help tone and build the muscles. Cycling is
also a good way of building muscle in your legs.

* Some kind of Sustained activity every day is also
important to keep your metabolism revved up. Try walking
the dog for longer, taking the bike instead of the car,
clean the house (vigorously) dig the garden or go dancing.

* Don’t skip meals. This will just deny your body of
essential vitamins and nutrients needed for optimum health
and slow down your metabolism. Try eating 5 small meals a
day. Remember there is a reason that Sumo Wrestlers eat
huge meals then take a nap after every meal.

* Use spices, spices can make bland food more appealing
and spice can boost your metabolism slightly.

* Drink plenty of water; dehydration can slow down your
metabolism. Water is the most important nutrient in the
body. The liver will concentrate on water retention instead
of burning fat if deprived of water. You will also feel
more tired if dehydrated and therefore less inclined to
exercise.

* Try and make sure that 10-35% of your daily calories
come from protein. These should be lean protein sources,
e.g. fish, chicken etc. Also a small handful of unsalted
nuts can help to keep your hunger at bay as well as
providing a good source of protein.

* Calcium helps to rev up your metabolism, so try and
include 3 servings of low cal dairy and 1200mg of calcium a
day.

* Add interval training to your work-out. It’s easy to add
high intensity bursts, add a 30 second sprint to your jog
every 5 minutes or up the incline for 1 minute in 5 on your
treadmill.

* Steer clear of fad diets such as The Maple Syrup Diet.
It is liquid sugar, your blood sugar will just go up and
down like a yo yo and your body will go into starvation
mode (metabolism drop). Any fad diet purporting to help you
lose weight fast is probably just going to help you to lose
water and muscle and have your metabolism dropping faster
than you can say roly poly.

If you can just incorporate 5 of these tips into your
daily regime then you should see a significant improvement
in your weight loss results.
For more help in reaching your weight loss goals go to:
JanetDunmore.com

10 Secrets for Successful Weight Loss

After years of yo yo dieting and trying every fad diet out
there to lose weight I found that my metabolism had slowed down
I only had to look at a cookie to put on weight. I decided
I needed to make some drastic changes if I was to improve
my chances of losing the extra weight that had been
creeping on for the last few years.

Just think how easy it is to gain 1lb a week, you just
have to overeat by 3,500 calories per week and there you
are at the end of the year 52 pounds heavier. Well, if
you’re built like Victoria Beckham then you could probably
stand to add the extra, but for us regular types, this is
quite a scary prospect.

I decided to do some serious research into what would help
me to get my metabolism back up to normal in order to give
me a fighting chance in my weight loss quest. Here’s what I
found that works:

* Muscle helps to keep your metabolism up. You don’t need
to become a body builder but light weights with plenty of
repetitions help tone and build the muscles. This gives you more time to burn off the calories.

* Don’t skip meals. This will just deny your body of
essential vitamins and nutrients needed for optimum health
and slow down your metabolism. Try eating 5 small meals a
day.

For more help in reaching your weight loss goals :
Go Here to Learn More

Just found a picture of me when I was at my ideal weight 3 years ago and would like to get back to this weight. Strangely enough I just go back from Cannes in the South of France last week and we went to this restaurant again where the photo was taken, wonderful place.

I'm really getting into the Burn the Fat Feed The Muscle Program again as the results are the best. I have tried a few other programs in the past but this one has given me the best results and I feel that it will be much easier to stay on this as I never feel hungry. The other thing I like about it is the fact that the author is such an authority, he has so many tips to help with weight loss that even if you only used a quarter of them you would surely loose weight.

After the Weekend

Its Monday and its the start of hopefully another good week for me as far as staying on track with my weight loss program.

I've decided to try and keep myself as busy as possible this week to distract myself from reaching for the cookies.

I'll try and use the car less too so that I get more exercise. What I'd really like to do is to generate an extra £7,900 somehow so that I can go and buy one of those new 4 min exercise machines. Imagine that, 4 minutes of exercise equal to 45 minutes in the gym. Oh well, guess I'll have to dream a bit longer.

Women Losing Weight

I thought id write this blog all about my own experiences in trying to lose weight. I have so far lost a total of 28lbs, unfortunately I don't have a picture I can link to of my former fattie days as I was very camera shy. In fact if anyone came near me with a camera in those days I would get quite aggresive in my attempts to stop the photo. I have even destroyed some pictures that did manage to slip through the net.

I still have quite a bit of weight to lose but am very happy that I have made such a difference to my appearance so far. More info on my other blog go here!
